  2. 2018 Fire Orange F80 M3 ZCP, Part 3 - More M Performance!

    2018 Fire Orange F80 M3 ZCP, Part 3 - More M Performance!

This Fire Orange regular came back for some more! Keeping in line with the OEM M Performance theme, the owner opted for additional factory upgrades--namely the M Performance exhaust system and the 763M wheels. These were certainly good choices as they made this orange beast look and sound even more mean. The black finish of the 763Ms goes well with the various carbon trim front to back and top to bottom on this car. The M Performance exhaust not only sounds great but also offers great weight savings, as the stock ZCP exhaust is still relatively heavy! All in all, this car is shaping up to be one of the best builds we've worked on. We can't wait to see what else is in store!

  3. 2018 BMW i3s

    2018 BMW i3s

The i3 was always quick and nimble for what it was--a compact EV primarily designed for urban travel (with a range-extender option for folks who need to drive some more). The i3s is the newest iteration of the eco-pocket rocket. Power has been bumped up to 184 HP and 199 ft-lbs (compared to the 170 HP/184 ft-lbs of the standard model). Top speed has been increased from 93 mph to 99 mph. 0-60 times have also dropped from 7.3 seconds to a 6.9. It's certainly no M2 or M3 in regards to speed or power it's still a decent amount of car for the average driver. While the i3s may seem underwhelming for most performance junkies, it does offer a look into the future of alternative-fuel performance cars.

  4. Long Beach Blue Pearl F87 M2 - BMC, KW Suspension, VR Speed Factory

Long Beach Blue Pearl F87 M2 - BMC, KW Suspension, VR Speed Factory

When a driver modifies their suspension for the first time, more likely than not, they will opt for simple lowering springs. That's a perfectly sensible solution for the average driver. The more enthused drivers opt for complete coilover systems. Such systems offer way more points of adjustability and more potential than just springs but are also considerably more expensive. KW's HAS Sleeve-Over kit is a great compromise between the two extremes as it allows you to height-adjust each corner individually. This M2 was on just lowering springs before but came by to upgrade to the HAS kit.

  5. 2018 Fire Orange F80 M3 ZCP, Part 2 - BMW M Performance Carbon Fiber Splitters

2018 Fire Orange F80 M3 ZCP, Part 2 - BMW M Performance Carbon Fiber Splitters

The last time this Fire Orange car was here it received a set of Macht Schnell Wheel Spacers. It has gone through a few more changes since then, chiefly carbon fiber aero trim from BMW M Performance. OEM always tends to fit these cars the best so we couldn't fault the owner for being a bit of a purist! M Performance's carbon fiber trunk spoiler, mirror caps and rear diffuser added some aggressive accents to this fiery sedan. But besides the blacked out kidney grilles, the front end was still looking tame compared to the considerably more aggressive rear. That's where we came in by installing carbon fiber upper and lower splitters, also from M Performance. These splitters look so right and are so popular with our customers that it's becoming very rare to NOT see them on an F8x car! With the exterior now very much on point, the owner expressed some interest in getting a louder exhaust which definitely sets the stage for this Fire Orange beast's next eas visit...

  6. 2018 Fire Orange F80 M3 ZCP, Part 1 - Macht Schnell Spacers

    2018 Fire Orange F80 M3 ZCP, Part 1 - Macht Schnell Spacers

It's always a treat to receive a customer with an Individual car. More often than not, the Individual car is in a hue we seldom see. The F80 M3 can be a relatively unassuming car when finished in a white, black or gray but when its finished in Fire Orange, it's anything but! This Fire Orange II F80 M3 ZCP is fresh off the showroom floor and was in need of some personalization. The owner decided to draw first blood with Macht Schnell Competition Spacers, with 15mm spacers up front and 12mm in the rear. Combined with the stock ZCP suspension, the spacers did quite a bit to upgrade this M3's aesthetics!

  7. 2018 Black Sapphire Metallic F90 M5

    2018 Black Sapphire Metallic F90 M5

The F90 generation of the M5 brings many changes to the legendary model. This is the first M car (besides the X5/X6 Ms) to use all-wheel drive. The F90 is also the first M5 to not be available with a manual transmission. The staunchest BMW M purists may decry those changes, but going by published reviews and tests, the M5 is faster than ever and can still dance around corners with finesse. With 600 HP and 553 torques, it might not seem too much faster than the previous model or the competition. But thanks to AWD, it can accelerate from a stop with brutal authority--Car & Driver managed to get from 0-60 in 2.8 seconds! A 2.8 second 0-60 time makes this family sedan from hell even faster than a Audi R8 V10 Plus or Nissan GT-R!

2018 Black Sapphire Metallic F80 M3 ZCP - Macht Schnell Competition Spacers and Springs

Many of those 2018 cars are also looking to get their first modifications. Those first mods are very commonly lowering springs and wheel spacers. They both allow enthusiasts to transform their ride's look for relatively little investment (relative to a new set of coilovers and wheels!). This Black Sapphire Competition Package came by our shop for those exact mods. For Competition/ZCP cars on a moderate drop (as you would get with lowering springs), we reccomend a 12mm/10mm front/rear setup which was exactly what this car rolled with.

  10. 2018 Mineral Gray F87 M2 - Eibach Pro-Kit Springs & Macht Schnell Spacers

    2018 Mineral Gray F87 M2 - Eibach Pro-Kit Springs & Macht Schnell Spacers

Lowering springs and wheel spacers are very popular first mods for many of our customers. They are modifications often performed when the driver prefers to not deviate too far from the stock setup. This brand-new 2018 M2 stopped by today for its first set of mods. Its driver opted for Eibach's Pro-Kit springs are among the most widely used and have many applications. While lowering springs reduce wheel gap and improve aesthetics, handling and feel are also improved due to the car's center of gravity being lowered. Like other quality brands, Eibach springs will also keep the ride quality relatively comfortable. Once the springs were installed, we also installed 10mm Macht Schnell spacers all around. The driver requested a more conservative yet still flush-fitting wheel fitment so 10mm all around did the trick.
