  4. E9X Exhaust Shootout!

Saturday morning on November 14, 2015, European Auto Source served as host to an E9X Meet and Exhaust Shootout! M3 owners from various regions attended the event either rolling in on their own or with a caravan formed at the crack of dawn and taking a nice, low traffic, morning cruise to the event. M3s of all colors and builds were in attendance ranging from full stock to intense race or show builds. Beginning the event with the revving of an E93 with a stock system, the benchmark was set for all the exhaust systems to come. Megan Racing catback and axleback systems seemed to be a favorite but systems from a wide range of manufactures were present. These manufacturers included RPI, IPE, Megan Racing, M Performance, Akrapovic, Macht Schnell, Turner, Active, Meisterchaft, Dinan, Eisenmann, Magnaflow, Unique, ARK, TopSpeed, Challenge, Armytrix, Remus, and American Racing.

After hearing all the cars from both parked and rolling positions, it’s hard to decide just what exhaust would be the choice option. Each system is unique and delivers different performance, sound, and looks. Stay tuned for an exhaust comparison video!

  5. Alpine White M3 Convertible on the Dyno

Compared to the coupes and sedans, modified M3 convertibles are pretty rare to come by. This Alpine White E93 dropped by our facility for some basic maintenance and a dyno session. Fitted with all the standard bolt-on power modifications, such as a tune, intake, pulley, track pipes and exhaust, this M3 put down 376hp and 271ft-lbs tq at the wheels. Quite a bit of work went into giving this vert a properly unique and aggressive exterior, from the super low stance, 20" wheels, gloss black accents, custom headlights, tinted taillights and carbon fiber all around. This M3 also sounds as mean as it looks, which gives onlookers twice the reason to turn their heads when it drives by. Enjoy!

  6. Black Chrome Niche Vicenza Wheels Installed on M3 Convertible

You might remember this E93 M3 from a previous blog post, in which we installed quite a few high-end modifications and showed you how insanely loud this car was on our dyno. Well, this Alpine White M3 recently returned to our facility for a couple of changes. The first item on the list was the exhaust system. While it may have sounded awesome to us car enthusiasts, a collection of neighbors and some officers of the law tended to disagree. For the mean time, we swapped the mufflers back to stock to tone the car down a little bit. Next on the list were the wheels. Wanting something new and little different, the owner of this M3 opted for a set of Niche Vicenza wheels in a stunning black chrome finish. While these wheels aren't made specifically for the M3, we were able to dial in a perfect fitment using Macht Schnell 20mm spacers in both the front and rear. We're pretty sure this isn't the last time we'll be seeing this aggressive convertible, so stay tuned to see what might be next for this car!

  7. Loud & Fast M3 Convertible

As far as convertibles go, this particular M3 is rather aggressively modified. Under the hood you'll find the newly installed ESS VT2-650 supercharger system, which thrusts this E93 to just above the 575whp mark. Underneath the car is a Macht Schnell Race Catless X-Pipe mated to a Meistershaft Race Exhaust. Just in case you weren't sure, yes, this set-up is insanely loud! Be sure to watch the video to see for yourself. On the inside we installed bmwpedals DCT paddle shifters, bmwpedals aluminum pedals and an Awron digital gauge. On the outside, this convertible is fitted with an Arkym carbon fiber front lip, an Arkym carbon fiber rear diffuser, a Vorsteiner carbon fiber vented hood, a Vorsteiner carbon fiber trunk and an iND painted cosmetic package. To help this car handle the extra power, we installed the Ohlins Road & Track DFV coilovers and Ground Control camber plates to compliment the Brembo GT big brake kit. Matte Black ACE Design wheels finish off this Alpine White M3 with a unique touch.

  10. Supercharged Alpine White M3 Convertible

We're no strangers to supercharging M3s, but it's not every day that we get to supercharge a convertible. This Alpine White E93 came to us for exactly that: an ESS VT2-625 supercharger system. When this stock M3 first came to us, it recorded 349whp and 262wtq on our Dynojet dyno. After installing the supercharger system, a set of Macht Schnell Bypass Track Pipes and a Meisterschaft axleback exhaust system, it recorded 544whp and 358wtq! Not only did this M3 gain nearly 200 horsepower at the wheels, its exhaust note was transformed into a very loud and very aggressive growl. Be sure to watch the video below to hear this beast in action.
