We recently had a bit of cloudy weather in Southern California, which was perfect for a quick rooftop photoshoot of our project Alpine White E92 M3. Enjoy!
By now you are familiar with M3Post member jsyang15 and his constantly evolving Mineral White E92 M3. His latest choice of wheels are these beautiful Volk Racing G12s in formula silver.

Here's are some studio photos of our 2011 Alpine White E92 M3 project car that we will be bringing to MFEST this weekend.
Watch this awesome video review of our very own VF620 M3 by Matt Farah on his show TUNED! TUNED visits one of our favorite California tuners, VF engineering, who have upgraded the E92 M3's power, suspension, and brakes in order to turn the m3 from a balanced, focused machine into an absolute monster.
Since our project M3's primary intentions will be track duty, safety is #1 concern. Race seats and a harness bar are up next on the agenda.
Recaro Pole Position seats were chosen for this build. Black cloth will match the speedcloth interior on the door panels, breathe easily and will last for years both on and off the track. 3-point belts will be retained for the street, a set of Schroth harnesses will be utilized at its upcoming track event next month.
On the hardware end, Macht Schnell had everything covered to allow a fully bolt-in installation for the Recaros, as if it were originally offered by BMW themselves. There is zero flexing - you are locked within the seat during spirited runs.
With seating taken care of, we called upon VS Motorsports in Chicago to fabricate a harness bar for us in 4130 Chromemoly steel. Weighing in at a hefty 80lbs, this is built for strength, with sharp looks following after. The harness bar is very well built and allows minimal gap between the factory headliner and main hoop.
Next up on the list are Gauges. The M3 comes very little equipped in terms of monitoring vitals. Going to a boosted setup, three gauges come to mind:
- DCT Fluid Temperature
There is very little space to mount gauges in the E9X chassis, we will be using the Macht Schnell Ashtray Gauge Panel for this build. Housing (3) 52mm gauges, we will always be able to keep engine vitals at a moment's glance, without being too obtrusive to the interior.
