Having previously worked on his E90 M3 and F06 M6, this devoted M enthusiast returned to our facility with his newly acquired E30 M3. Like most cars that are approaching 30 years old, this 1987 Alpine White M3 was in need of some maintenance and restoration, but we weren't going to stop there. During the time E30 spent with us, we attacked every corner of the car to create a clean, high performance daily driver.
The first order of business for this M3 was improving the S14 motor. A VAC 2.5L stroker kit, carbon fiber intake system, custom stainless steel exhaust and a custom tune gave this naturally aspirated 4-cylinder some additional power. Next we focused on the suspension, where we installed a new set of coilovers, camber plates, polyurethane bushings and front/rear anti roll bars. Hidden behind the gold HRE 501 Vintage Series 3-piece wheels, a front Brembo big brake kit, rear cross-drilled rotors and stainless steel brake lines provide massive braking performance improvements.
The complete interior along with a pair Recaro Speed seats were stripped and re-upholstered in a beautiful brown leather/suede combo by Top Stitch. A new dash cluster, steering wheel, shift knob, short shift kit and an Awron DGA vent gauge give this E30 the tactile sensation of a brand new car. For the exterior, we installed a carbon fiber front splitter, a carbon fiber rear wing, new HID headlights, matte black kidney grilles and various new trim pieces add the finishing touches to this first generation M3.
While it may not be nearly as fast or high-tech as the other M cars in this owner's collection, this is the M3 that started it all. We're usually working on brand new BMWs day in, day out, so its actually a treat for us to dive into one of these legends. Take a moment to look over these photos and enjoy!

This Laguna Seca Blue M3 drove to us all the way from Northern California to get some major modifications. First items on the list for this E92 were the ESS VT2-625 intercooled supercharger system and the Macht Schnell race x-pipe, which rocketed this S65's power output from 347whp/259qtq to a beastly 535whp/359wtq! To slow down from the newly attainable speeds, we installed a StopTech big brake kit behind the 18" Volk Racing TE37SL wheels; 6-piston calipers in the front, 4-piston calipers in the rear. The Mode Carbon GT4 carbon fiber front lip spoiler, Vorsteiner carbon fiber trunk lid and a carbon fiber rear diffuser not only give this E92 an aggressive look, but they'll help add a bit of aerodynamic stability as well. Inside, we swapped the rear seats for a bolt-in roll cage, installed some gauges and a set of Pedal Haus aluminum pedals. For the past few weeks we've been absolutely inundated with modifying SoCal's newest F8X M3s & M4s, but we're not complaining! Of this recent influx, this beautiful Yas Marina Blue 6MT M4 is the latest to roll out of our facility. Like most other M4 drivers that come to our shop, the owner of this F82 really wanted a more aggressive stance for the car. To accomplish this, a set of H&R sport lowering springs in conjunction with 15mm Macht Schnell spacers brings the car closer to the ground while pushing the wheels out to their proper positions. To clean up the exterior, we installed iND's Yas Marina Blue painted front reflectors, rear reflectors and keyhole cover. Last, but definitely not least, this M4 received the very cool Awron DGA gauge. Enjoy.
We've installed many of these Awron gauges in supercharged E9X M3s before, but this was the very first that we have installed in the new M4. Like all the other Awron gauges, this model, which fits the F30 3-Series, F32/F33 4-Series, F80 M3, and the F82/F83 M4, is expertly pre-assembled into an OEM BMW vent. The sharp, full color OLED display presents a wide array of real time data, which is controlled using the steering wheel buttons for quick, on the fly commands. We really like how this gauge flows with BMW's new interior - it really looks like a factory option! Chances are that if you read this blog on a daily basis, then it's pretty safe to assume you're a hardcore BMW enthusiast. If you're a hardcore BMW enthusiast, then you have definitely fantasized about moving to Germany, building a super badass M3 race car and then regularly thrashing it on the Nurburgring. In reality, most of our BMWs will remain street legal, and the closest many of us will ever get to driving on the Nurburgring is through an Xbox. However, one of our customers in Germany is fortunate enough to live out this remarkable fantasy.
This E92 M3 has been built to be the ultimate Nurburgring track car. While we're not entirely sure about every detail that has gone into its construction, we do know that it features a fully stripped and caged interior, an Akrapovic exhaust system, a GT4 lip, a GTS spoiler, two Recaro seats, Schroth 6-points harnesses, an OMP steering wheel, KW 3-Way Adjustable coilovers, solid subframe bushings, a 4:10 differential, StopTech brakes, a CAE shifter, a Macht Schnell Stage 2 Intake, Macht Schnell Pulleys, M24 carbon fiber doors, Stack gauges and square Apex EC-7 wheels wrapped in 265/35 Michelin Cup tires.
