Another tastefully done black= M3 graces the eas blog! This time, it's a Black Sapphire F80 M3 rolling on a quality set of Volk Racing TE37 Ultras. These TE37 Ultras are specifically the M-Spec version finished in Diamond Dark Gunmetal. It's really tough to go wrong with TE37s as these proven wheels look good on almost everything. The perfectly-dialed in ride height was provided by KW Variant 3 (V3) Coilovers. To complete the look of the car, a BMW M Performance Carbon Fiber Front Lip Spoiler is up front and a 3D Design Carbon Fiber Type 2 Rear Diffuser is on the rear. Overall, a very tastefully done build with top-quality parts!
KW Coilovers are the go-to suspension upgrade for many of our customers who are upgrading either from stock or basic lowering springs. With proven motorsport pedigree, it's hard to go wrong with nay of KW's quality offerings. Their Version 3 (V3) Coilovers are an especilaly popular option due to features such as independently adjustable damping technology - rebound and compression damping.
The separate and independently adjustable rebound- and compression damping allows for an individual suspension setup for different uses and preferences. The unique patented system with its two-stage valves allows a rebound damping adjustment (comfort) and a compression adjustment (driving dynamics) in the low-speed range while the high-speed range which controls the driving safety, is fixed.
As far it is vehicle-specifically possible, the rebound damping is adjusted by a spindle at the end of the piston rod. Mainly, the traction phase (rebound) controls car body vibrations and also influences handling and comfort in the low-speed damping range. By using the traction phase adjustment, the vehicle can be adapted to the requirements of the driver. Moreover the driving behavior can be regulated from comfortably rolling to sporty and tense with improved road holding characteristics.
The compression phase adjustment is carried out at the lower end of the shock absorber via our patented multi-purpose valve. The large number of pre-set parameters of this valve allows for a wide range of adjustment for individual use. The unique low-speed compression adjustment significantly distinguishes this technology from any other. In this compression range, the driving behavior of the vehicle is drastically influenced. An increase of the damping power supports the vehicle already during compression and therefore avoids rolling and pitching. The directional stability is significantly improved.
Other features include:
- "inox-line" stainless steel technology
- Individual height adjustment
- German TUV-tested adjustment parameters
- High-quality components for long life
- Comprehensive documentation for ease of use
- Infinitely adjustable rebound damping
- 14- level adjustable compression damping
- Unique, independently functioning damping power adjustment
Some car/wheel combos look just right. HRE R101s and the San Marino Blue M3 CS is definitely one of those combos!
Starting at a mere 16lbs, HRE’s R101 Lightweight takes the R101 style to the next level. The R101 LW is specifically designed for individual vehicle models creating the ultimate in lightweight optimization for street and track use. Every vehicle model has a different load rating and power output, so HRE utilized this data to redesign the R101 for each model application fine-tuning each detail of the wheel to remove weight and add stiffness where possible. The aesthetics and performance of these lightweight wheels are taken even further with the KW Dynamic Dampening Control Coilover System . Carbon fiber bits from AutoTecknic and RKP complement the San Marino Blue body color rather nicely as well!
The E46 M3 is a true modern classic. It's a car that still has a passionate following among enthusiasts so the aftermarket still caters to the venerable platform. This clean Interlagos Blue example with only 43,000 miles on the odometer lived a rather stock life. It's owner decided it was time for some changes when they contacted us. First order of business was installing a KW Variant 2 Coilover System. The KW V2 system is intended for the experienced driver who does not only wish to determine the individual lowering of his vehicle, but also wishes to carry out setup adjustments. The adjustable rebound damper allows adjusting the pitch and roll behavior of the vehicle and therefore the driving pleasure can be adapted to the own requirements.
Titan7 T-S5s are now available in M2 Competition spec! The M2C comes from the factory with a massive pair of front calipers and 405mm rotors so this called for a different-sized 19'' wheel. These wheels still net major weight savings over OEM wheels with due to Titan7's 10,000-ton fully-forged construction. And with M2C-tailored fitment, one will be able to utilize wider grip tires in the rear for better traction with the S55 motor's power. Along with the KW Clubsport Coilovers, this properly upgraded M2C ought to be a very exciting car to wring out on the track!
Upgrading your car's seats and suspension system are some of the most worthwhile modifications you can make. While a upgrade such as coilovers can dramatically change the way the car handles and feels on the road, in many ways, swapping out the seat is an even bigger change. Along with the steering wheel, pedals, and shift knob, the seat is a major touch point; one of the main ways (if not the main way) the driver interacts with a car. Most factory seats are a one-size-fits-all sort of deal and do not do the best job in keeping the driver in place during sportier driving. A good aftermarket seat with more aggressive bolstering would do better in keeping the driver in place under high performance driving, comfortably. The Sparco SPX is a good example of said type of seat.
The Lime Rock Park E92 M3 is a racer's delight. A quality coilover setup such as KW's Variant 3 system KW's Variant 3 system makes it even more delightful. The KW Variant 3 (V3) Coilover System is among the top suspension options for the road and track. The separate and independently adjustable rebound- and compression damping allows for an individual suspension setup for different uses and preferences.
Carried over from the older M3 cars, Silverstone Metallic is an awesome color choice. As its name states there is a silver look to the paint but generally the paint displays a blue tint. Park it under a tree or next to a grass field and it immediately picks up some green tint. Owners tend to enjoy the color very much, saying that it never really has the same color and every time you look at it the color changes. We have seen this first hand with all of the Silverstone Metallic cars that have come by. Direct sunlight reveals to us silver, during sunset a bluish tint, and at night much darker silver. The M Carbon Ceramic Brakes on this car go nicely with the body since the gold calipers are also an easy on the eyes color.
Offered in three different colors, frozen painted E92 M3 Coupes are quite rare, with only 150 Frozen Edition cars built for the US market in 2013. Among the three options, Frozen White is said to be easiest to find, followed by Frozen Blue, and the hardest Frozen Red. Of course the Frozen White is still a rare sight considering the number of E92s out there. Frozen edition cars like this came with a $15,400 premium over the base M3s, which seems pricey, but considering the $5000 paint job, $2500 competition package, EDC and DSC sport mapping, $4350 Premium Package, among other smaller upgrades like gloss black kidney grilles and black exhaust tips, the money is well put in to the car.
