  2. Akrapovic Exhaust Systems

Established in 1990 by Igor Akrapovič during his racing career, there was a distinct lack of high-quality exhaust systems open for purchase to the public. Igor ended up designing his own exhaust system with the experience that he had gained in the motorcycle tuning field. At the time, it was common for exhaust systems to be made out of steel. Keeping weight in mind, Igor replaced steel with materials like carbon fiber and titanium. Akrapovič Exhaust Systems began with the motorcycle industry and grew to be a global exhaust supplier in the sport, being used in Moto GP, Superbike, Super sport, Supermoto, Motocross, and Enduro.

While it's often overlooked, a steering wheel can be one of the most appreciated modifications on any given car. Think about it, every single time you use your car you will be touching the steering wheel nearly 100% of the time. The M Performance Alcantara steering wheel offers a premium feel along with a racecar look. Plus, the integrated carbon fiber trim perfectly matches the rest of the interior trim. This Alpine White M4 recently came in to upgrade it's steering wheel, but this wasn't it's first modification. 4. Frozen Chrome M4 Gets a Full Akrapovic Exhaust

This M4 caught everyone's attention when it rolled into the shop; we've never seen anything like it! The exterior has been adorned with some M Performance goodies, including the carbon fiber rear spoiler and the carbon fiber front spoilers, and even though the rest of the car is chromed, the OEM kidney grilles and side markers were swapped with some gloss black replacements. 7. M4 Convertible Gets a Full Akra Set-Up & More

When this M4 came to our shop for its appointment, it was bone stock with exception to the trunk mounted Aeromotion carbon fiber wing. Once it was on our lift we proceeded to install a full Akrapovic exhaust set-up, which included the Evolution titanium system along with the stainless steel catless downpipes. K&N performance air filters and a JB4 tuner were then installed under the hood to maximize this convertible's power output. Next we installed an RKP carbon fiber rear diffuser, which compliments the Akrapovic carbon fiber exhaust tips nicely, along with the M Performance carbon fiber front splitters & lip. You might notice that this F83 retains its chrome trim and orange reflectors; that's because the owner was explicitly focused on maximizing the car's power and aerodynamics instead of its exterior cosmetics. While this M4 convertible probably won't appeal to the more conservative BMW enthusiast, there's certainly no denying that it must be a blast to drive around Southern California. Enjoy.

  8. Yas Marina Blue M4 Gets Akrapovic Downpipes

After its previous visits, in which it was fitted with Apex wheels, KW suspension, an Akrapovic exhaust and some exterior pieces, this Yas Marina Blue M4 returned for a set of downpipes. To correspond with its Akrapovic Evolution titanium exhaust system, this F82 opted for the new Akrapovic stainless steel catless downpipes. This being the first set of Akra downpipes we've had the opportunity to install, we were blown away by their craftsmanship upon opening the box. Featuring laser cut flanges, cast ends with integrated O2 bungs, OEM quality heat shielding and flex joints, these downpipes are certainly on par with Akrapovic's usual standard of excellence. Once installed, we strapped this M4 to our dyno, where it put down 442hp and 433ft-lbs tq at the wheels without a tune. It also made quite a bit of noise as well! Check out the video below to hear this F82 in action. Enjoy.

  9. Akrapovic Exhaust & ER Downpipes for a Yas Marina Blue M4

In a quest for additional power and a louder sound, this Yas Marina Blue F82 dropped by for a full new exhaust set-up. For the sake of maximizing exhaust flow and minimizing turbo lag, we replaced the restrictive OEM downpipes with a set of Evolution Racewerks stainless steel catless downpipes. We then mated the new downpipes to an Akrapovic Evolution titanium exhaust system for additional free-flowing performance and substancial weight savings. In order for the S55 to get the most out of a new exhaust system it needs a tune; in this case, we installed the popular BMS JB4. The last step of this M4's first visit was cleaning up the exterior with gloss black kidney grilles, side markers and a trunk badge, along with installing the M Performance carbon fiber spoiler. In a few hours time, we took this stock F82 and transformed it into a beastly street machine. We're sure we'll be seeing it again soon. Enjoy.
