Eventuri - Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake - BMW G9X M5
The G90/G99 M5 Eventuri intake system was developed to provide an optimized airflow path to the turbos while minimizing heat soak to maximise performance. We designed a sealed system to prevent the intake from drawing in heated air but balanced this requirement with the advantages of a dual air feed to reduce the overall pressure drop. The ducts take air from the OEM feeds and also feature secondary openings strategically positioned near the bonnet shuts. These openings tap into a consistently cold region of the engine bay, providing an additional source of cool air. In addition, these secondary openings also enhance the audibility of the turbos spooling within the cabin, adding an immersive dimension to your driving experience.
At the heart of the Eventuri G9x M5 intake lies our patented Venturi filter housings. This signature design ensures laminar airflow as the air transitions towards the turbo inlets. By reducing turbulence and optimizing the flow path, the turbos operate with lower wastegate duty cycles. The combined effect of the patented housings and the dual air feed ducts results in improved performance and sharper throttle response, translating to quicker acceleration and a more engaging connection with the road.
The Eventuri Difference
The G9X M5 Eventuri system uses our Patented Carbon Fibre Housings with our Gen 2 bespoke filters, which provide an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbos. Not just another cone filter with a heat shield but a unique design which invokes the Venturi affect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce the drag on the turbo. Dyno Testing
This intake has been independently dyno tested by MSL Perfomance. Tests were done back to back against the stock airbox and several runs were taken with each configuration. We took the best results from the stock airbox and the best from the Eventuri system. The dyno results show a consistent gain throughout the RPM range which can be attributed to the turbos reaching peak boost earlier and with a lower wastegate duty cycle due to the higher efficiency of the intake system. This gain is despite the dyno cell temperatures being higher for the Eventuri tests. The performance gain translates on the road to increased part throttle and full throttle response with the car pulling much more eagerly to the redline.
Performance Gain: 14whp, 11wft-lbs
The Eventuri G9X M5 intake system consists of a number of components engineered to perform a specific purpose and fabricated to the highest of standards. Here are the details for each component and the design ethos behind them.

Carbon Twin Air Ducts
To direct cold air to the housings, we designed our ducts with dual feeds. The first one connects to the OEM cold air feed which takes air from an ambient area around the bumper/headlamp area. However, the position of these feeds in relation to the filter housings would have created a large pressure drop in the system as the airflow would have to navigate through a restricted geometry. To solve this we added a secondary feed at the top of each duct to sit on the side panels close to the bonnet shuts. This opens up the ducts to a second source of cold air while also alleviating the issue of the restricted geometry. The dual feeds minimize the pressure drop in the system while also enhancing the sound of the turbo to the cabin. Made from the same high quality prepreg carbon fiber as the housings, the ducts finish off the intake system beautifully.
