Black Sapphire Metallic F80 M3 - CSF, Eventuri
We got this F80 M3 breathing a little better and also cooled it down a bit with upgrades from CSF Radiators and Eventuri.
CSF's Top Mount Dual Pass Charge Air Cooler helps alleviate much of the heat soak the F8X's S55 suffers from. Many F8X owners experienced the same loss of power on the track as the engine just could not cool off during laps. The solution is two fold: The Charge-Air-Cooler & Front Mount Heat Exchanger work together to keep the intake temps down and power up. The factory units simply cannot dissipate enough heat to keep up with prolonged performance driving. CSF's Charge-Air-Cooler boasts a core size that is 60% larger, greatly increasing the capacity for heat transfer from the hot charge air coming from the turbos. Paired with the Front Mount Heat Exchanger the system is able to maintain lower intake temps and keep your BMW F8X’s power up.
Eventuri's updated V2 intake design features sealed filter housings to maintain a more steady IAT, even while stationary. The new ducts which seal the housings, coupled with our scoops ensures unrestricted airflow whilst maintaining low IATs through cold air saturation. Every detail was taken into account to ensure that Eventuri created a flagship intake to set a benchmark for this platform. From the scoops to the ducts to the intake tubes – they developed a “complete solution” to ensure a smooth inlet track with cold air saturation. With a carbon weave to match the OEM M Performance carbon – this truly is a new benchmark. This intake system can offer gains up to 20 HP and 23 ft-lb of torque.
Along with their intake, we also installed Eventuri's Carbon Fiber Charge Pipes. The Eventuri S55 Carbon Chargepipes are manufactured from high temperature prepreg carbon fiber and come with a number of other components engineered to perform a specific purpose and fabricated to the highest of standards.
A common issue with aftermarket chargepipes is the poor fitment due to the nature in which they are made using bent metal tubes. Clearances with the engine cover and other aftermarket intake systems can be an issue. Our solution with using carbon fiber allows us to use complex geometry in order to provide and OEM-like fitment whilst retaining optimum flow.
Eventuri's design uses smooth curve transitions from the turbo outlets to the charge-cooler. In addition we also increased the internal volume as compared to the OEM version to allow the turbos to work with less restriction. Importantly our machined flange attachment to the turbo outlet maintains a constant diameter to the chargepipes without and exposed edges which could cause turbulence. This is an improvement over aftermarket metal chargepipes which often have welds between the flange and the tubes.
Eventuri also made sure to to increase the structural strength of the chargepipes over the OEM versions. It is becoming increasingly common for the OEM chargepipes to fail especially with tuned cars running higher boost levels. By using a cross-directional carbon weave layup with multiple layers to form a 2mm wall thickness, Eventuri's chargepipes provide an incredibly strong solution for reliable operation even with larger turbos. Furthermore they have embedded CNC machined stainless steel rings into the openings where the clamps are tightened to ensure the pipes maintain their shape even under high clamping forces.
To complete this F80 M3's trip to eas, we also installed Eventuri's F8X M3/M4 carbon fibre engine cover. This piece is the perfect finishing touch to their intake system for this platform. The quality of our carbon weave and finish is second to none and installation is a matter of minutes.
