E36 318ti Compact S52 Swap - Sparco QRT Performance with Custom Retro M Cushions

This E36 Compact was one of the cleanest ones we've seen roll into our shop. Not only was it clean but it was also packing an S52 M3 engine under the hood. The owner wanted to use this little beast as a new track toy so this car needed a seat upgrade. Out came the tired, drying factory seats and in went a pair of Sparco QRT Performance Seats!
 
The QRT Performance seat represents the luxury evolution of the QRT-R race seat. The QRT Performance uses the same FIA approved race shell as the QRT-R race seat but is covered in Italian Leather and Alcantara. The seats are handstitched in the Sparco OEM factory in Torino Italy. The QRT Performance has a unique CAD design that features a lower seating position that can fit a larger/taller driver with the exterior dimensions that can fit into smaller cockpits. The QRT Performance can hold the driver during extreme lateral forces, but is also comfortable for long road trips. To further set this track build apart, the customer provided custom seat cushions with a retro M tri-color patterned fabric.
 
Before being installed into the cockpit, the seats were installed on Macht Schnell Clubsport Seat Mounts. These mounts were designed as a full turnkey seating solution for most race shells. They come complete with mounting brackets, seat sliders, and adjustment mechanisms. Lightweight, strong and simple to install, there are also integrated locking stops for hardware provide single-tool adjustments.
